The "Dame" is a high class gun, appreciated by the most demanding one, convinced by its legendary line, equilibrium, lightness and efficiency. We work in the purest tradition of craftsmanship, using our experience and our knowhow, acquired principally on the Dame's workbench, for you utmost satisfaction, to hold a unique gun. Our guns are entirely made, according to your personal requirements. Our name is now associated with Dame hallmark, both mentionned on barrels and breech-block. Each gun gets a personalized finishing following the desire of the buyer, who chooses forms and wood of stock and engravings. All these, give birth to a unique piece.

Since their creation, Darne gun's are one of the most famous names of arm's manufacturer in Saint-Etienne FRANCE. Thanks to its simplicity, elegance and resistance, model V established the principe and the notoriety of fixed barrel guns.
It's main characteristic is a sliding-breech activated by a key-lever, easily open with two fingers to open and load it. A simple pression forward with palm of hand, lock smoothly the mecanism. The sliding-breech is held aligned to the barrels by working by compression. Heaspaces are extremely tight for a better range and the lowest recoil, due to convergent obturator disks {Dame Patent).
Percussion is ensured by two arming nuts acting on sears top. The security of this mecanism reinforced by a double safety triggers prevent from all accidental shot caused by a shock. Fine adjustement of firing-pin allowed smooth-nest starts. The safety, activated by a button on side of breech, command sears in cocking position, it's safer that usual safety triggers.
The impossibility to keep finger's on triggers during loading action is definitively safe. As a matter of fact the only way to load a Dame Model V is to lock the breechblock by pushing the key lever, with a natural motion of the hand.
AIIDarne gun comes with automatic and selectif ejectors. They are composed by two classic extractors and by two hooks pulling out fired shells, at the end of breech-block course.
Dame barrels are bored in special steel tubes, polished in length, soft soldet at low temperature to preserve steel structure and recorvered with several bronze coating. So, these barrels have a high ballistic efficiency. Three types of ribs can be proposed; decreasing rib also called "plume" rib, straight rib or inversed tiles rib.
Stock and fore-end selected walnut, dried in ours workshops, are made by hand, with half-pistol or english straight-grip with checkering pattern. Instead of standard fore-end, abeavertail's type can be executed.Engravers, nominated "Best French Workers", (high/craft-man's distinction) execute engravings according to specific requirements of the future acquirer.
Darne Model V is an outstanding class gun, combining efficiency with safety.

Model R is the first model manufactured by Dame, with all traditional characteristics of Dame; robust locking system, slimline, reliability, ballistic efficiency and refined finishing. Conception of fixed barrel gun includes a breech-bloch sliding on a high resistance armature-table, solid with barrels and hand-rest
Manually dismounted, this breech-block is operated by a lever with "ears", enabling the cocking and locking of the gun, assured by two more locks. The longer one works with compression in the same way of gaz-pressure, having a force multiplied by seven upon the key-lever. The little one is an extension between barrels. Obturator-disks keep shell perfectly tight, and limite by the fact recoil energy (Dame Patent). All Dame gun comes with automatic and selectif ejectors, just pulling out fired shell. Percussion acts through two percuting masses mounted on helicoidal springs. Dame barrels are bored in special steel tubes, polished in length, soft solded at low temperature (no deterioration of steel structure) and assembled in a collar.
Barrel are exterior bronze coated and fixed to armature table by an adjusting hook cut in this collar. Lenght of barrels are executed according to the type of hunting. This length varies of 60 to 75 centimeters. For 12 gauge, bore are 18,4 mm + or - l/10th and done, as chokes, in fonction of buyer's desire.
All our barrels are proved by official testing bench of Saint-Etienne, above 1370 bars, certified by one hall-mark. Stocks are executed by hand in walnut, with half-pistol or English straight-grip-hand-rest can get a light wood or ebony and, from Model R 15. Dame Model R with little key-lever has the best mecanic power for incalculable hunting parties with the best pleasure you can wish.
